Sorry my posts are ridiculously late. So much has happen since this post but ..

The 2011 Singtel Singapore Grand Prix Formula One night race was held in September. Everything I’ve heard about the event was spot on and even better than expected. It was the first time ever, the Formula One organization booked any K-pop artist to headline their entertainment stage. GD&TOP/SEUNGRI shared the same global stage as Shakira and Linkin Park, which is a HUGE deal.

As soon as we landed into Changi Airport we were escorted by security and cleared immigration within minutes. Our Singapore partner, Amos of the Launch Group was waiting for us. Checked into the Fairmont with ease… Was hungry so the entire group set out to eat some late night grub. Chili crabs is where its at!! We had a long day ahead so crashed for a couple of hours since we had an early morning sound check. Upon arriving to the venue, I was impressed with the beautiful cityscape surrounding the Padang stage. I could tell we were in for something special… Took a slight rest after, and we regrouped for dinner at the venue. While we were getting escorted to the stage, we all couldn’t help but feel the excitement of the Formula 1 cars racing by. The sound of the engine is DEAFENING! DJ MURF first took the stage to warm up the crowd of 30,000+ He played a nice mashup set with exclusive YG remixes. At this point the crowd was going bananas screaming “내가제일 잘라가” which was a nice surprise. Seungri opened the show with his signature charismatic style. Then the crowd really exploded after GD&TOP took the stage. All in all it was a solid show with phenomenal production and response. Afterwards, we went straight from the venue to Ku De Ta. The homie Brandon Neville also decided to show up from Seoul. “You snooze you lose.” Checked it out for a bit…. then shot over to Avalon which was a bit un-organized but cool. DJ MURF had a guest DJ set in the VIP room which he killed. Bottles galore since Andy was in the house and I guess the new bottle of choice is Ace of Spades. So much has changed in the past two months lol The weekend went by fairly quickly. We ended up mostly at Avalon for their insane lineup, JW Black Party and Pangea to catch up with the homie DJ VICE. Was able to check out the Linkin Park concert from the VIP booth which was cool as I’ve never seen Linkin Park live… Hit it big time at the Marina Bay Sands Casino which was also… GREAT! Can’t believe the 180 to 1′s were hitting. The last day of the race we went back to our club suite and viewed Sebastian Vettel secure his pole position. Overall it was the best Singapore trip to date and I can’t wait to go back.

Whoa. I haven’t updated in quite a while. It’s been quite chaotic the past several months since my last post. I promise I will try to update as often as possible but working on this beatdown intel celeron laptop is ghettofrustrating. I hate lag, more than I hate the police, or not. I don’t even know how I work on this thing, I think someone gave it to me for free. Looking forward to that new macbook pro dropping next year.

September started off with a trip back home, the greatest city in the world. Flew business which wasn’t bad but I really wanted to fly on that new KAL airbus but changed the flight itinerary. Ended up subletting a spot on the 43rd floor on 37th street which was quasi-cool since it had a BBQ grill on the terrace (which is totally illegal). Of course I had to get that grill going and my best friend, Puertofrican Rob held it down with some burnt out undercooked burgers. Had to put work in, the homie TOP had a photoshoot with Calvin Klein and we just happened to be there at the same time. Got to show him around the hood which was cool since it was his first visit. Also chilled w Yoon Eunhye who was a sweetheart. Never seen her act and I hardly watch any Korean tv but I’ll tivo it.

I am a partner in luxury men’s street wear brand, ORIGAMI – FOLD YOUR PAPER. We (designer Kevin Saer Leong) debuted our first runway collection during NY Fashion Week at the Samsung Experience. America’s Next Top Model winner, Jaslene Gonzalez walked the show. We swagged the runway with female models rocking men’s clothes. Everybody from Russell Simmons to Selita E Banks was in attendance. Shouts to SAMSUNG, DUPONT TYVEK, G-SHOCK and SWAROVSKI for sponsoring the show. Hope you loved what you saw and expect some crazy heat for next season. Fashion Week was kind of cool. Saw Tyler the Creator/ODDFUTURE perform at the Alexander Wang frat party. Beer bongs, kegs, fridges filled with 40oz budweisers, models, aphotheke open bar, jesse marco, pretty much sums up the party. Kevin sprayed budweiser like it was cristal. Bumped into the homie Bryan Greenberg from HBO’s how to make it in america. Season 2 is dope so far! Slingbox is the shit. Hit up Electric Zoo for like an hour and caught the end of Diplo’s set, Boysnoize, Richie Hawtin and Avb. Shouts to Betty Kang at Plexi PR. Fellow Korean American behind the electronic music scene in the States, killing it on the pr game.

GD&TOP AND SEUNGRI to Perform at the 2011 FORMULA 1 SINGTEL SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX

Fans of K-pop have good reason to bring the house down this September at the 2011 FORMULA 1 SINGTEL SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX. For the first time ever, Singapore GP has added the dynamic trio of Korean pop stars GD&TOP AND SEUNGRI to a line-up of world-class acts at the only Formula One night race.

Better known as G-Dragon, T.O.P. and Seungri of the massively popular band BIGBANG, this powerhouse trio will drive fans wild with their polished dance moves and infectious tracks at the Padang main stage (Zone 4) on Friday, 23 September.

G-Dragon and T.O.P. (GD&TOP) debuted with the album GD & TOP in 2010 and released three singles ‘High High’, ‘Oh Yeah’ and ‘Knock Out’. Their music is a brilliant hybrid of hiphop and rap, infused with electro, pop and acoustic elements. With their edgy persona and a series of chart-topping successes, GD&TOP has quickly earned a reputation as the “ones to watch” in the Korean music industry.

Joining his BIGBANG mates is the multi-talented Seungri, a hip-hop performer, actor, record producer and songwriter who released his solo mini-album VVIP in 2011. On a complete last minute notice I decided a trip out to Singapore was necessary. The sweltering heat and torrential downpours in Seoul was a bit too much to endure. Plus my partner Jay’s good friends from Attica (sg) invited us and showed great hospitality by booking us several rooms. On the day we left I found out my younger brothers in Big Bang and my lil sis Min from Miss-A were performing at the Korean Music Wave Festival. Always a plus to be with close friends in another country. Most of Singapore was a complete blur (as usual) but it was fun. Hit up Attica, Filter (the co-founder of Facebook Eduardo poured his 3L Goose into my mouth, no homo), and Butter Factory. Was getting recognized everywhere we went so had to stay low key. Ate some chili crabs, hit up Orchard Road, the pool, and a few fancy restaurants. My homie Andy Chi from middle school moved out to Singapore. I haven’t seen him since November of last year so it was good to have him join our entourage during his busy schedule. My man is stacking so much paper its ridiculous. He signed his autograph more than Michael Jackson. His expensive taste buds only yearned for Cristal and not even dark green bottles were able to appease his thirst. Showed us all the true definition of champagne campaign! Literally drank from 3 bottles of Cristal at once. No need for glasses we all had a bottle each. And for the younger readers, I don’t endorse binge drinking nor alcohol but sometimes life’s a celebration ^^ Man even the reps at Diageo happened to be at the club and left stumbling out the door. I also got to link up with my homie Greg Gumo, a partner at Avalon and his friend Nara, a pop artist from Thailand. We was free styling all over the place. The Conrad hotel sucks. Ritz is where its at. Overall I met some cool people and we have some excited projects coming up.
